Verna Myers discusses stereotypes that still exist today that cause tragic events. She wants

to change the way that our country is going. She admits that we all default to stereotypes 

and misconceptions without even recognizing that they are there. She poses questions to

challenge current thoughts. She doesn't think that we should not recognize color or race,

 but that we should stare it in the face and address our misconceptions. "Disassociate the 

association that happens automatically in our mind."
